Here is a sample of some of our picked berry sizes. I've added a half of the 7lb size, 3.5 lbs for $20. Gabriel found some monster berries! One family drove hours to arrive at 7am and picked 92 pounds by noon! We were, ARE, very impressed!!! This week brought the heat, so to give everyone a better change to get 4th of July berries we are opening early through Tuesday. We have a request for 6:30 am for the 1st, so feel free to join us! :) Even with this heat, the later part of the evening is quite enjoyable...starting around 7pm it starts to cool off. Evening picking is my favorite as it gets steadily cooler and I'm rewarded with a gorgeous sunset, as well!
We are starting out with U-pick only. You may call to place an order for picked berries. The images below show what to expect at the beginning, middle, and end of harvest.
Right now you will find ripe berries in amongst still ripening berries. They take a bit longer to pick as you need to avoid the green berries, and may be a bit more tart than later in the season. Peak berries are shown in the middle photo. This is the easiest picking, but is hard to predict exactly when it will arrive. If I had to guess I'd say it may be here in 2-3 weeks, but it depends on the weather and each plant is different so, who knows!?! Then the end will arrive - usually around a month from the beginning, but it can last longer or be cut short depending on how hot or cool the days are. We have gone into the first week of August a few times, but usually are done before the end of July. (Of course one year we started the 31st of May and were done by the 4th of July, but that was unusual.) Saturday Evening & Sunday Morning
